Some wedding days just feel effortless from beginning to end, and Emma & Kyle's celebration at Chester Zoo was exactly that. Chilled to the max, personal and completely centred around them, it was one of those weddings where every moment from start to finish was genuine. From a beautiful outdoor ceremony with the wind being a non-paid actor to an unforgettable group walk around the zoo, their day was packed with memories that nobody will forget.

Outdoor Wedding Ceremony at Chester Zoo

The day began in the most perfect way, with an outdoor ceremony held in the charming courtyard at Chester Zoo, which is a gorgeous private space leaving you feeling like there is not a single visitor visiting the zoo. The sun was shining brilliantly overhead, but thankfully a gentle breeze drifted through the space, keeping everyone cool and comfortable while adding some drama when the veil decided it wanted to dance. It couldn't have been a more beautiful setting for Emma and Kyle to get hitched.

Cutest little moments during the ceremony

One of the sweetest parts of the ceremony had to be seeing two out of their three little boys take on the important roles of Best Men and Ring Bearers. Watching them proudly stand alongside their mum and dad made the ceremony even more meaningful. It was such a lovely reminder that this wedding wasn't just about two people getting married it was about celebrating their wonderful little family.

Candid wedding moments during the drinks reception at Chester Zoo

Once the ceremony came to an end, everyone gathered for drinks in the shade while soaking up the sunshine. The atmosphere was everything you could hope for the drinks were flowing, hugs being shared, children playing plenty of laughter echoing around the venue. There was no rushing from one part of the day to the next just everyone enjoying the moment together.

Wedding Tour At Chester Zoo

Of course, this wasn't your average wedding venue. Emma and Kyle wanted to give their guests an experience they'd never forget, everyone was treated to a guided tour around Chester Zoo, which they set off in smaller groups on their adventure around the zoo. It was such a unique and thoughtful touch that perfectly reflected the couple's fun personalities. Guests wandered through the zoo together, chatting as they walked and getting to see some of the incredible animals that make Chester Zoo so special.

It was so lovely being able to capture the couple and their guests embracing the adventure. There were smiles everywhere, plenty of excited conversations about favourite animals and so many opportunities to simply enjoy spending time together in such an unusual wedding setting.

Nothing is better than candid moments during wedding speeches

As everyone grabbed their seats, the celebrations continued with some of the most heartfelt speeches. They struck the perfect balance between emotional and hilarious, with story after story having the entire room bursting into laughter. You could really feel how much love surrounded Emma and Kyle and every speech reflected the strong friendships and close family bonds that had brought everyone together for the day.

Private tour around Chester Zoo for wedding portraits

As the evening approached and the zoo closed to the public, we were lucky enough to head back into the zoo grounds for Emma and Kyle's portraits. This turned out to be one of my favourite parts of the entire day. Of course, things quickly became even more entertaining when we discovered there was an animal called a dik-dik! Safe to say there were plenty of laughs once that little fact came to light and it became one of those unexpected moments that perfectly summed up the fun spirit of the entire wedding. Sometimes it's those completely random discoveries that become some of the best memories.

The soft evening light was absolutely beautiful. With the crowds gone, the zoo became wonderfully peaceful, creating the perfect backdrop for some relaxed portraits of the newly weds. There was no pressure, no rushing, just the two of them enjoying a quiet moment together after such an incredible day.

As the sun set, it was time to head back inside where the evening celebrations were well underway. The dance floor quickly filled as friends and family threw themselves into celebrating Emma and Kyle. There was so much energy, laughter and them dance floor shapes filling the room, making it the perfect ending to such an unforgettable day.

Looking back, what made Emma and Kyle's wedding so special wasn't just the incredible venue or feeling of adventure that came from it. Every decision reflected who they are as a couple and as a family. From including their boys in such important roles, to taking everyone on an adventure through the zoo, every moment was designed simply to bring people together and create memories but in a super chilled out way.
