Relaxed Candid Wedding Photography
If there’s one thing I love most about weddings, it’s when couples unapologetically make the day their own. Beth & Ross’ beautiful late spring wedding at Quaint Country Weddings in Powys was the perfect example of a day wrapped in laughter, love and a whole lot of personality.
From the moment the morning started to the golden-hour portraits and full-throttle dance floor, their wedding was full of heartfelt details and deeply personal choices that made it unmistakably them.
Morning Moments in Montgomery
Beth & Ross chose to get ready separately in two Airbnbs across the road from each other in the charming town of Montgomery. It was the perfect setup, close enough to feel connected if needed, but far enough to have their own space and share those precious hours with their own favourite people.
The anticipation built beautifully, especially when Beth popped the champagne and it quite literally went everywhere a proper giggle filled moment that set the tone for the whole day. There was laughter, excitement, and a calm sense of “this is exactly how it’s meant to be.”
An Emotional Ceremony in a Picture-Perfect Church
The ceremony took place in a stunning Grade II-listed black and white church just next door to the venue. Honestly, it felt like stepping into a storybook. The space was intimate and beautiful. You could feel how much it meant to them a real sense of grounding and gratitude that carried throughout the vows.
Handmade Details and Stunning Florals
Back at the venue it was transformed into a springtime dream, to be completely honest, unlike I have seen Quaint Country Wedding's look before. Beth had hand-crafted green streamers that fluttered beautifully in the soft breeze, adding colour and movement to the marquee.
Tables were dotted full with delicate spring bud vases filled with blooms by the insanely talented Emma Jane Floral Designs and I’ve got to say, she’s one of my absolute favourites to work with. Every arrangement felt fresh, natural, and thoughtfully placed but also made the marquee smell incredible.
The Bakes… Let’s Talk About the Bakes
Beth didn’t stop at décor. She also made all the wedding bakes herself. And they weren’t just pretty, they were ridiculously tasty. I may or may not have had one of each (strictly for quality control, of course).
The entire dessert table that looked like it was pulled from the pages of a countryside baking fairytale. It was heartfelt, delicious, and so uniquely Beth as baking is one of her fave hobbies!
After emotional speeches and a whole lot of laughter, the couple and their guests tucked into dinner (after having of course, some incredible canapés too) served by the absolute legends at Pieoneer Pies. Hands down, one of the best catering choices you can make. The food is always spot on, hearty, and perfect for lining the stomach before a night of dancing.
With full bellies and full hearts, Beth & Ross then snuck away for some quiet time, just the two of them with the most beautiful soft light a photographer dreams for. The light was unreal, soft and glowing, the perfect backdrop for portraits and a breather before the night kicked off. That little pocket of calm allowed them to soak it all in and re-centre before throwing themselves back into the celebration.
When they returned, the evening guests were arriving, and it was game on. The music picked up, drinks were flowing, and the dance floor quickly filled with their favourite people ready to let loose.
Beth & Ross brought the energy, the love, and the fun. And honestly? The whole day just felt like a big warm hug!
