The burnt orange bridesmaid dress obsession is real! Especially for an autumn wedding, which Leigh-Anne and Andy’s wedding was. Their September celebration at Wilde Lodge in Shropshire might have been intimate in size but it was mighty in atmosphere, fun and FEELS!
If ever there was a couple who were truly passionate about keeping their big day eco-friendly and as sustainable as possible, it’s these guys. They went exclusively vegan for their wedding breakfast and wedding cakes (yes, cakes - why have one when you can have two, PLUS cupcakes?!) and their menu by world-inspired, locally sourced caterers CSONS was vibrant, pretty and totally delish!
The whole day really was green in both sentiment and style thanks to the lush home-grown cheese plants, crystals and sustainably-sourced dried flowers that they used to decorate the venue. Wilde Lodge’s Long Barn is so bloody gorgeous and rustic in vibe that it doesn’t really need much adding to it, especially if you’re going for a laid-back boho style wedding. I LOVE the trailing greenery inside, the whitewashed stone walls, the twinkling fairy lights adorning the beams and the rug-lined aisle… gorge! All of it! And actually, the perfect venue for Leigh-Anne and Andy’s spiritual and sustainable wedding.

Their day was jam-packed with loads of gorgeous, hilarious and personal moments throughout. You could tell that they had truly considered what they wanted their wedding to be like, focussing on what was truly important to them, which is why they hired celebrant queen, Vicky, from Hwyl Ceremonies. This time the wedding ceremony wasn’t an element that needed to be ticked off to move on to the party, their ceremony was the key to the whole day, and let’s be honest - without a ceremony, there is no party! Leigh-Anne and Andy’s beautiful humanist ceremony featured hand-written vows, a unity sand ceremony and handfasting where members of their families got involved too. But these deeply personal and heartfelt acts only happened once they had their private first look and the maid of honour and best man danced wildly down the aisle scattering petals for the bride’s arrival - it really was a day of heart and hilarity!
Following the ceremony they relaxed into the day with drinks and canapés on the lawn and were joined by an EPIC magician! I can’t tell you how amazing he was, and the trick reveals made for some awesome candid guest shots - more magicians at weddings please! Whilst the guests mingled and soaked up the dreamy Shropshire surroundings, Leigh-Anne and Andy exchanged private vows under the shade of a beautiful old oak tree, overlooking the valley beyond, before I whisked them off for some couples’ shots. Leigh-Anne looked incredible in her lightly embroidered, tulle dress and everlasting dried flower bouquet. Whilst 99% of the couple’s portrait shoot was romantic and breathtakingly beautiful, it did also include being chased by a donkey which got the adrenalin pumping and everyone belly laughing!
Their ‘I do’ crew joined us for the last few smoke bomb photos before we wrapped up the most incredible of days with an epic sparkler shot, a 90s disco (with someone’s crutch as a limbo pole - inspired!) and the happy couple flashing me their matching cow print pants! Win, win and win again!
From the couple;
“Booking Vix was the BEST thing we did for our wedding. The gallery we received after our incredible pre-wedding shoot put all our worries at ease for the wedding. The shots were out of this world. I knew everything was going to be great on the day. We were totally relaxed around Vix, who got all the shots we wanted and way more - artistic, beautiful photos that really captured our day. My dad hates cameras and Vix managed to get the most stunning photos of me and him where he is so natural and relaxed. Brought me to tears to see them as we’ve never had good quality photos together before.
My husband and I are spoilt for choice on our portraits- we want to print ALL of them. Vix is friendly, kind and a right laugh. Helped me change my skirt hoop, get into my dress and organise the guests - a photographer, a friend and an organiser when needed all wrapped into one.
If I went back and had to do it all again, booking Vix would be the first thing I would do. These photos are an investment, and investing in Vix meant we got in return her time, dedication, expertise and timeless photos we will always treasure.
In short, if Vix is available for your date - book her. If not, change your wedding date for when she is.”
