Shropshire fun Wedding Photographer
There are some weddings just give the best vibes ever and Sam & Nathan's super chilled day at Moat Hall Barns was exactly that. Relaxed, fun and centred around spending quality time with the people they love most, every part of their wedding felt effortless.
From getting ready together at home with their absolute legend of a dog, Ozzy, to saying their vows outdoors beneath blue skies that appeared almost by magic just minutes before they walked down the aisle together, this was a day filled with laughter, incredible food and so many moments that had everyone smiling.
Ditching a morning apart, for a chilled morning together
Instead of following "tradition" (because, let's face it, who cares about traditions that don't even make sense to you?) and getting ready separately, Sam and Nathan chose to spend the morning exactly where they felt more chilled at home, together. They enjoyed a calm morning in their favourite place, alongside their gorgeous dog, Ozzy.
It instantly set the tone for the entire day.
They were able to help each other get ready, share those pre-wedding nerves (if there were any!) before heading off to become husbands. It was relaxed, meaningful, and so wonderfully "them." Having Ozzy there for all those little moments made it even more special.
The rain didn't rain on this parade
As I arrived at Moat Hall Barns ahead of the ceremony, the weather had other ideas. Rain was absolutely p*ssing it down.
Guests were arriving with umbrellas held high, doing their best to dodge the downpour as they sat outside at the gorgeous Moat Hall Barns. It looked as though the outdoor ceremony might of been a scene from it's raining men, but then something pretty magical happened. Almost the exact moment Sam and Nathan pulled up, the rain stopped. And within seconds it looked as though it had never rained at all. The umbrellas disappeared, jackets came off and suddenly everyone was basking in beautiful sunshine. If you hadn't witnessed the weather ten minutes earlier, you'd never have believed how dramatic the change had been. (Gotta say, I'm glad I snapped this photo so prove it happened)
Walking down the aisle together
Sam and Nathan walked down the aisle together, hand in hand, with Ozzy proudly making the journey alongside them.
Their ceremony was made even more personal by having one of their best friends act as celebrant, in the most AMAZING pink suit I have ever seen. Every word felt genuine, heartfelt and full of stories that reflected who Sam and Nathan are as a couple. There were plenty of laughs, a few emotional moments and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere that had everyone completely at awe throughout.
The best way to Enjoy the time with their fave people with a long drinks reception
Afterwards, guests stayed on the lawn for one of the most relaxed drinks receptions you could imagine.
There were garden games dotted across the lawn, children bouncing away on a bouncy castle, drinks flowing and guests chatting away in the sunshine. It was giving summer garden party vibes which is exactly what the pair wanted.
Best wedding bbq by Oak Apple
Then it was time for the wedding breakfast...or should I say, one of the best wedding BBQs you'll ever experience.
Oak Apple Catering with owner Ed proving exactly why he's known as the king of the BBQ. Manning the BBQ like a pro and definitely soaking up them drinks from the drinks reception at the right time. (OH and I will say, Ed's potatoes are the best potatoes in the whole world, every single time I've had them, they just slap!!!)
Time to get away for 10 mins
After the food, the pair and I escaped to the lake for some portraits. Of course, it wouldn't quite be an adventure without climbing into the rowing boat. (And me having to tell Sam off to trying to capsize the boat and drown his new husband) But to be completely frank, they both looked absolutely lush.
Then the partying began!
As the evening rolled around, it was finally time to get the party started. Following their beautiful first dance together, the dance floor quickly filled with family and friends ready to celebrate. Before long, everyone was up busting a move, singing at the top of their lungs and making the most of every minute with their crazy fun pals.
