1) A Personalized Consultation

Your journey with your wedding photographer typically begins with a personalized consultation. During this meeting, you can discuss your what you’ve got planned and also to see if we gel together. This is a great opportunity to establish a rapport with your photographer and ensure that your styles align. Remember, you’ll be hanging out most of the day, so it’s important to have someone who feels like they’re a friend and you feel comfortable around.

4) Pre-Wedding Planning

Leading up to your wedding day, expect your photographer to collaborate with you on logistics, such as locations, lighting, and timing. This preparation ensures that everything runs smoothly on the big day. I often tell couples to think about putting their speeches, before food because so often they’re left till last that by the time they’ve finished evening guests may be arriving and people have not kept their speeches short and sweet like asked. If you schedule them for before your food and tell the people doing them they have a max of 10/15 minutes it often helps ensure your day stays on track.

Your wedding photographer should come equipped with professional-grade cameras, lenses, lighting equipment, and backup gear. This ensures that they are prepared for any technical challenges that may arise. I personally carry 3 camera bodies, 4 lenses, 12 SD cards, 6 batteries and 3 flashes.

7) Turnaround Time

After your wedding, you'll eagerly await your photos. A reputable photographer will provide a clear timeline for when you can expect your images to be ready. This timeline should be outlined in your contract. I state to allow 6 weeks for your images. But you’ll receive 3 sneak peeks the following morning to wake up to for your to share and obv update your wallpaper on your phone.
