Modern Boho Luxe Wedding at Garthmyl Hall

Aylish and Kyrren and their take on a modern, boho wedding celebration at dreamy country house wedding venues, Garthmyl Hall, is one that will go down in Pix by Vix history. Not only are they two awesome, inspiring individuals, their modern bohemian wedding featured some of my all-time fave wedding details; insane floral creations (more on those later!), a healthy amount of booze (and booze-related games - HELLO beer pong!) and incredible live music soundtracking the day.

Although their day was a HUGE amount of fun, in fact - I’d like to do it all over again please, it was also infused with deeply moving and heartwarming moments too. From the emotional first look between Aylish and her dad where she handed him a handwritten letter to the newlyweds’ first dance on Garthmyl’s lawn at dusk, and the beautiful references to Aylish’s brother who had sadly passed away which were woven throughout the day. Everything was pitch-perfect and entirely them. So, what are you waiting for? Let’s dive in!

First things first, let’s talk about my favourite topic, the women. My super hot bride, Aylish, her hype queens and her amazing mum who were all awesome company on the day, totally up for a laugh and looked absolutely stunning! Aylish wore a bespoke strapless lace gown by Nicola Anne which she styled with a pair of statement, mismatched Lori Muldoon earrings and cathedral length veil - how gorgeous does she look?! Honestly, smokin’ hot! We even made time for a mini empowerment shoot on the morning of the wedding and this goddess absolutely smashed it. Just a handful of subtly sexy snaps before she put her dress on, it was perfect. Actually, this is something I would always recommend doing… if time allows of course!

The bouquets by TMS Events were boho in vibe and were predominantly made from white / natural dried flowers with a hint of fresh through the inclusion of cream and dusty pink roses. Her bridesmaids wore super chic, floor-length black dresses which made the light and bright bouquets really POP!

After chatting to Aylish throughout her wedding planning journey I knew that she wanted a contemporary take on a boho vibe for her big day. As well as planning, researching and sourcing lots of gorgeous little details to achieve this, they also hired TMS Events for the bouquets and venue decor. Love it or loathe it (personally, I LOVE it!), pampas grass is a pretty big deal in the wedding world. Bursting with texture it works brilliantly in oversized, boho-inspired bouquets and venue decor, adding volume and cool AF drama to any installation. While it’s commonly associated with a beachy, boho vibe I’ve also seen it used in a number of modern wedding aesthetics too, such as this! In Ailish and Kyrren’s case its ability to create impact and transform the spaces at Garthmyl made it the perfect addition, plus the light, feathery effect added a gorgeous amount of flamboyance (here for it!) to the day, whilst still staying true to that beautiful, boho vibe.

The real show-shopper of the day though was the incredible 6ft wide flower cloud that took centre stage in the marquee at Garthmyl Hall. I couldn't even begin to tell you how Tammy created such an amazing installation but what I can tell you is; it was EPIC and absolutely nailed the modern, boho luxe wedding they were aiming for!

This super hot couple had electric chemistry all day but it culminated in a dreamy couple shoot in the wildflower meadow in Garthmyl’s grounds and a rowdy game of beer pong - told you these guys were my kind of people! Their inclusion of beer pong is the perfect lesson in simple (and cheap) wedding entertainment that gets everyone going, gets them suitably drunk AND results in brilliant wedding photos… and hilarious memories. That said, it’s totally up to you if you wanna use Aylish’s battle cry, ‘WHO’S YA MAMA?’...!

Beautiful words from the beautiful couple;

You are just bloody incredible! I can’t even put into words how bloody amazing they are! I mean I’m bloody blown away, you captured everything and more, all the perfect candid moments with all our loved ones and honestly they’re so precious thank you! We love you so much and honestly so bloody grateful!
